Talk recording

In this talk, I will share my journey as a researcher, exploring the diverse disciplines that have shaped my work. As many interdisciplinary researchers, rather than following a linear path, my career has been a dynamic evolving intersection of different fields, driven by curiosity and the diverse nature of complex systems. I will share how ideas from different domains have influenced my research, highlighting key challenges, unexpected turns, and the collaborative spirit that has enabled new exciting projects and findings.

About the speaker
Andreia Sofia Teixeira is an Associate Professor at the Network Science Institute at Northeastern University London. Her research lies at the intersection of Network Science and Machine Learning, focusing on developing measures, computational models, and frameworks to better understand the structure and dynamics of complex systems. She is particularly interested in HIV spreading and prevention, collective behavior and decision-making, neurological and neuropsychiatric disorders, and how affective (positive, negative and neutral) relationships shape our environments and vice-versa.
