Network Science PhD Student
lab website

I am Zhen Guo (she/her), a fourth-year PhD student at the Network Science Institute (NetSI) working with Prof. David Lazer. My current research focuses on the patterns of political information presented by Google Search when users search for U.S. House Representatives. My academic background spans both Computer Science and Sociology, having earned my Bachelor's degrees in both fields from the College of Wooster in Ohio. I am working on uncovering how search engines shape the political information landscape, using network analysis, data visualization, and large-scale data mining. I am passionate about exploring the intersection of online culture, social movements, and political (mis)information. My past projects, including studying Twitter follower networks and their relationship with users' demographic identities, have fueled my interest in how digital platforms shape public discourse and collective action. I am looking to continue my work in industry, where I can apply my expertise in Data Science, Natural Language Processing, and Social Science. Contact me if you are interested in collaboration or learning more about my research
