Irene is currently a postdoctoral researcher at Northeastern University’s Roux Institute, where she works on human mobility data with applications in public health. She previously completed her Ph.D. in Condensed Matter Physics at the University of Barcelona's Institute of Complex Systems, with research focused on opinion modeling on complex and multilayer networks. Her doctoral work explored the dynamics of belief evolution within interconnected systems, aiming to understand collective behaviors emerging from individual interactions. Irene holds a Bachelor's degree in Physics and a Master's degree in Computational Modeling from the University of Barcelona. She has been actively involved in academic community roles, serving as Advisory Board Secretary for the Young Researchers Complex Systems Society and as a Steering Committee Member for the Winter Workshop on Complex Systems.
